The DCF Publishing Story

By Cameron Mackay, Founder

DCF publishing started  as a small enterprise making and selling aviation and military related items for flight enthusiasts in 2020.

In early 2020 when I was not doing a lot as a commercial pilot, I considered leaving the aviation industry to pursue another career.  The nights out of bed flying across the Atlantic Ocean and the new styles of personnel management in the airline world was not to my liking anymore.  The problem was that I started flying when I was 17 and some thirty something years later, it appears all of the skills I had picked up on the way weren't recognised in any sectors except the flight operations department of an airline.

Pilots are restless people, I needed to fill my time and regenerate my interest.  So I present to you some of the projects that you may find interesting. I have certainly enjoyed doing them.

If you are curious about my comment on the aviation skill set, check out the blog, or if you prefer, skip straight to the shop where you will find all sorts of Printed Mugs and Teeshirts,  Exclusive Imperial Security Bureau items and other pop culture.

My Aviation Background

I joined the Royal Air Force when I was 18 years old and served two tours on fast jets flying the Tornado GR1a reconnaissance aircraft with 13 sqn and then as a tactical weapons instructor on 74 Sqn at RAF Valley.

For the past 26 years I have been an airline pilot initially flying the Boeing 747 100/200/300 and the Boeing 777.

Concurrent with this for 10 years I was a director of one of the first independent flight training organisations to provide the MCC (multi-crew-cooperation) course.  We conducted our course on Boeing 757  and Airbus A320 full flight simulators at Cranebank.  Some of the items you see here have been adapted for the home simulator enthusiast. You will find manuals, books and aids to your professional flying, private flying and simulator flying.
